Car Review-2005 Chevy Tahoe
2005 Chevy Tahoe
Chevy returns with new, improved modification and enhancements to it’s top selling full-size SUV, the Tahoe. The 2005 Chevy Tahoe is available in LS, Z71, and LT models. The LS comes with a standard Vortec 4800 V8 engine. The LT model has a Vortec 5300 V8 engine. The LS model is roomy enough to seat up to 9 people.
GM’s Hydra-Matic four-speed automatic transmission is standard in both engines. The standard automatic transmission has a Tow/Haul Mode. When Tow/Haul mode is activated, trailering is enhanced by changing the transmission shift schedule for transporting heavy loads. The Autotrac 4x4 System automatically transfers power between the rear and the front wheels whenever rear-wheel slippage is detected. Tahoe features a five-link rear suspension that includes two upper control arms, two lower control arms and a track bar to control side-to-side movements. Tahoe has a tire pressure monitoring system that identifies the specific tire that may be low.
The 2005 Chevy Tahoe comes with impressive bonus features:
GM’s OnStar safety and security system is standard in all equipment groups for 2005.
Standard power-folding heated mirrors on LT and Z71 models.
Tahoe LT Models come standard with a Bose speaker system with nine custom-arranged speakers, a subwoofer, a six-disc in-dash CD changer and high-powered amplifier.
On the exterior, 17-inch on-/off-road tires, skid plates, locking rear differential and luggage rack, two new exterior colors are offered for the LS and LT: Sandstone Metallic and Bermuda Blue Metallic. The full sized SUV has improved fuel efficiency by at least one mpg: 15 city/19 highway. The estimated annual fuel cost is $1688.
